The Way of the Wealthy Woman Journal, by Taylor Eaton

The Way of the Wealthy Woman Journal: Inspiration, Practices, & Wisdom to Activate Abundance, by Taylor Eaton
Muse Oracle Press, 0645885088, 200 pages, November 2024

The Way of the Wealthy Woman Journal by Taylor Eaton is a wonderful resource designed to guide women on their journey to financial abundance and personal growth. The hardcover and golden gilded edges of this beautifully crafted journal bring the feeling of luxury and opulence into one’s creative space. Within these pages, it becomes possible to connect with your financial hopes and wishes, heal past money wounds, and step into the full radiance of wealth.

While one can work with the journal by itself, it is intended to be used together with Eaton’s The Wealthy Woman Oracle Deck. The cards provide clarity and guidance, and the journal is a sacred container to process, writer, and do the inner work to align with the card’s messages. An additional component of the financial journey Eaton provides is audio activations, which are recordings to activate abundance, that can be found online and listened to throughout one’s process of work with the cards and journal.

Eaton’s approach is refreshingly holistic, recognizing that financial success is deeply intertwined with one’s mindset and self-awareness. The journal is structured to facilitate a deeper understanding of one’s financial habits and beliefs, encouraging reflection on past experiences and setting clear, actionable goals for the future.

There are four chapters, and each has a specific focus for one’s financial journey. In order from chapter one to four the focuses are healing, trust, worthiness, and vision. Within each chapter, Eaton provides card spreads, journal prompts, money mantras, activations, and a prayer at the end. Some might feel called to move through the journal in sequential order, while others intuitively jump around to sections that call to them—whichever method feels aligned is the best way to proceed. This journal is not something to quickly move through and check off on a “to-do” list, but rather a tool to work with when the time feels right. Eaton writes:

“Use the journal at whatever paces feels right for you. The work you will do in this journal and the transformation you will undergo is sacred, deep work. Do not rush through it. Take your time. Be gentle and loving with yourself as you go through this metamorphosis.”1

I just love soaking in the heartfelt advice of Eaton! I have degrees in finance, economics, and accounting, so trust me when I say I’ve read a lot of books about money and improving one’s financial path. But none of them have ever tapped into the potent spiritual wisdom of the divine feminine to lead the way. For those of you who have struggled with your financial path within the current structure, rest assured there are most rewarding and fluid paths to success. This journal stands out with its unique blend of practical financial advice and engaging exercises that encourage women to explore their relationship with wealth through self-care, intuitive trust, and authenticity.

What makes this journal particularly appealing is its emphasis on empowerment and self-discovery. Through carefully crafted prompts and exercises, Eaton challenges users to think critically about their financial aspirations and the subconscious barriers that may be holding them back. This introspective journey is designed to foster a positive and proactive mindset towards wealth creation. The exercises are designed to tap you into your own personal frequency so that you reshape your financial journey to match your true desires.

Eaton’s advice helps to navigate the fears and doubts that arise when walking a path many have yet to remember. But she always brings journal-writers back to themselves through the process. I love this passage from the chapter on trust:

“As you take bold actions and move outside your comfort zone on your path to abidance, you may discover that you’re questioning yourself more than ever before. You may feel uncertain of what the future holds, fearful of what may (or may not) come to be, and wonder whether it would be better not to pursue the propensity your soul is yearning for. This is where trust is esential.”2

Another piece of advice Eaton offers that really stands out to me right now is the need to sometimes be still in the process of abundance activation. Finding a balance between action and non-action, readers discover that rest is just as important as forward momentum. She writes:

“When working hard than necessary, we often move so quickly that we miss countless opportunities for abundance to come to us easily. Sometimes, all we need to do is slow down and allow the money to catch up with us.”3

All of this wisdom makes for a fascinating read to illuminate new ideas as one moves through their financial journey. The multitude of ways to embrace the way of the wealthy woman, from mantras to journaling to the audio recordings, engage all the senses, bringing forth an embodied experience of financial transformation.

As for the journal’s physical details, the spine is flexible enough to open the pages wide when writing. And there’s a beautiful little pink ribbon placeholder to always find where you left off. The text is large enough to easily read, and the different fonts make it very aesthetically pleasing to read. Plus, the images throughout the book, which also appear in the oracle deck, awaken the sensuous, spiritual energy within ourselves. This journal is truly lovely visually, further connecting readers with the flowing, feminine nature of wealth.

Overall, The Way of the Wealthy Woman Journal is an excellent tool for those seeking to transform their financial lives. It not only provides practical advice but also nurtures a soul-centered approach to cultivating prosperity. It is a valuable companion for anyone on the path to financial empowerment, especially when worked with in combination with The Wealthy Woman Oracle Deck. There truly is an alternative pathway to wealth than what our capitalism culture shows us, and Eaton has opened a portal doorway for others to walk through with this journal.

Daily Light Gratitude Journal, by Joanna Hunter

Daily Light Gratitude Journal: A Radiant Guide to Infusing Your Life with Positivity and Purpose, by Joanna Hunter and illustrated by Stephanie Wicker-Campbell
Muse Oracle Press, 9780645885057, 200 pages, August 2024

In the Daily Light Gratitude Journal: A Radiant Guide to Infusing Your Life with Positivity and Purpose, Joanna Hunter channels beautiful messages from the collective consciousness she calls Skyler. She adds quotes from visionaries and thought leaders to serve as journal prompts or touchstones to light your way.

Hunter is a teacher, author, speaker, podcast host, and intuitive life and business coach. She is also High Priestess of the transformative group she calls Lightweb®. Hunter transitioned from marketing executive to spiritual coach after a major health scare several years ago. She channels a group of beings she calls Skyler and carries the sacred Codex of Light™ teachings. She serves as a spiritual guide for transformation and ascension.

Hunter has written four other books and published an oracle deck. After being born in Sweden, she moved to the Scottish Highlands at the age of 9. She lives in Scotland today and balances her spiritual work with her life as a mom and wife. Learn more about her at her website.

Stephanie Wicker-Campbell is a gifted illustrator and designer, who has illustrated oracle decks, journals, and book covers. She is also a keynote speaker and author in her own right. In a recent post, she expresses that she is stepping back from design work and focusing more on her publishing house, Muse Oracle Press. Wicker-Campbell resides in Australia. You can learn more about her current projects here.

This journal is a hardback version, and the cover features the stunning imagery of a portal of light that invites you to enter and record your gratitude journey. Hunter dedicates the book to “the light seekers and light players of this world.”4 She then invites you to add your name to the next page and create some intentions for your work with this special gratitude journal. The Forward includes a letter from Hunter and Skyler that explains her goals with this journal. She encourages you to reflect and journal daily as you record your gratitude statements:

“Gratitude connects us to the Daily Light. The more we can connect to our daily light, the happier we become and the more present we become in our lives dash now.  Gratitude is the key.”5

Hunter divides the journal into five sections, using a full color, double page spread for each one, which speaks to that section’s theme that follows:

  • Gratitude for the past
  • Gratitude for the lesson’s life has taught
  • Gratitude for the now
  • Gratitude for what we are calling in
  • Gratitude reframes

On these pages, she shares quotes from thought leaders and affirmations as well as a brief discussion of how to best utilize the journal for this part of the journey. The verbiage is printed on the beautiful, encoded artwork that also features a person, bird, or an animal, such as a monk, an owl, or tiger. These elements are added to the vibrant artwork, in a type of layering or collage process that allows the light codes to shine through and the rest of the symbols to play a secondary role. Some of the words on key pages inside, as well as the cover title and subtitle, is designed and printed to look like gold, but it’s not metallic. Rather, the designer used a dual-color process to mimic the shadow and light aspects of gold ink.

While the book is 200 pages, there are 156 pages of lined space for recording your daily gratitude, thoughts, impressions or epiphanies. She also mixes into each section six single pages of a stunning, light-encoded portal, on which you may focus to start your journaling.  Within the sections, Hunter includes journal prompts at the top of each right-hand page. She sprinkles thoughtful quotes throughout the lined pages of the journal. For each section, there are about 30 pages available for journaling, making this a perfect tool for a five-month gratitude journey.

At the back of the journal, Hunter shares a section called “How to use affirmations.”  Here she discusses something she calls “The game of liar ping pong.”  This is where you say an affirmation like “I am healthy.”  Then your brain says, “Oh no you’re not!” And reminds you of the nachos you just ate! Next, she provides a reframe for this ongoing “ping pong game” with yourself. She also shares her favorite ways to use affirmations and how to best word affirmations for greater success.

My favorite section of this journal is the last one, which is called “Gratitude Reframe.” Within this section, Hunter and Skyler challenge you to use reframes to speak your truth and reframe your past lessons for more success in all areas of your life:

“Reframes plus gratitude are a powerful combination that will help you shift your energy and align it with your deepest desires and of course more Daily Light.”6

This journal is a nice size (6” X 9”) and is printed on good quality paper stock that prevents bleed-through with daily use.  The edges of the paper are accented with gold foil. As shared earlier, all the artwork is printed in four-color, and the lined pages and journal prompts and quotes are printed in a light gray. I really like this feature, because the writing on these pages doesn’t detract from the book’s primary function as a journal.  The prompts at the top of the pages are printed in a cursive font, which invites you into the journaling process. There is also a silky gold ribbon to use as a placeholder. I love it when the author includes a ribbon!

On the back cover, Hunter invites in the reader with this message:

“As you traverse the pages of this sacred journal, allow the divine visuals to awaken your soul, fostering a deeper connection to the gratitude of your existence. . . Illuminate your daily path with the radiance of gratitude affirmations and inspiring quotes to elevate your spirit.”7

Anyone who is interested in making gratitude and journaling a regular part of their spiritual practice will benefit from Daily Light Gratitude Journal. Even someone who is unfamiliar with a gratitude practice will enjoy the section guides and journal prompts. Hunter really takes you by the hand and introduces you to the concepts in an easy-to-understand way. I plan to use this for my daily journaling practice for the next five months, adding my daily card draw to the notes I write. I highly recommend this journal for its beautiful, light-encoded imagery, the uplifting affirmations and the easy-to-navigate structure.

Self-Love Journal, by Akal Pritam

Self-Love Journal: A Journal to Inner Peace and Happiness, by Akal Pritam
Rockpool Publishing, 925924459, 208 pages, March 2021

“Dear Soul… May you surrender to self-love, the blooming of your joyful heart, as you journey towards more inner peace and happiness… May you love yourself through the process of transformation, not judge yourself and stop that inner blooming… I celebrate your beautiful creative rhythm. I bow down to you for all that you are. You are invaluable…”8

Self-Love Journal: A Journal to Inner Peace and Happiness by Akal Pritam is a feast for the eyes and a treasure for the heart. The pages of the journal are beautifully illustrated by the author and lovingly separated by color into sections moving through the energies of the chakras and their associated visualizations.

The quote above is part of the opening 2-page invitation from the author to step into the beauty of your divinity and ability to generate and be love. This small excerpt gives clue that this journal is not like any other you may already own and this invitation echoes within the spiritual nature and capacity for self-love and acceptance inherently within all of us.

Let me begin by saying that this is not a journal I would traditionally have selected for myself. I tend more towards the crisply lined unadorned pages and leather covers. But, as is true of many things, particularly those of a spiritual nature, first choices are necessarily what is needed, nor where you find the most self-growth.

These thoughts and more have been especially relevant in my case, and what I have learned of myself simply by going through the offerings for this review would, I believe, hold true for any reader. Pritam has skillfully produced a visually beautiful space to write your inner most feelings, judgments, and transformative moments, as self-acceptance and love begin to flower in response.

One of the reasons I chose this journal for review is because I have been feeling “raw” after the events of the past year and a half, as I am sure many of you are as well. Self-Love Journal is the perfect soothing balm to begin the healing. As you move through the pages, it feels much like a cocoon from which we can again find strength and joy within; embrace the metamorphosis and emerge with the beauty and lightness of spirit of the butterfly.

Images of beautiful women in soft-colored pastels grace the pages with ample space for journaling and inspiring words of encouragement accompany image or footer of a blank space to write. Each section that denotes the transition from one chakra into the next provides the reader with basic information about the energy they will be working with regardless of familiarity with the specific chakra. These include the English and Sanskrit names, the Bija sound, corresponding body parts, affirmations and more. The entire page is dedicated to the naming of opening this center within the reader’s etheric anatomy in preparation for the work to follow.

The page directly opposite is a beautiful illustration of a woman’s face adorned with the symbol of the chakra at the center of a geometrically patterned heart. The skill of Pritam’s artistic talent shines in these illustrations with the eyes of the women depicted looking back in loving gaze, determination, and support. These felt very much like gazing into the gentle strength of a dear friend hoping to share the reflection of beauty that she sees within you for you to claim as your own.

I especially enjoyed the writing inspirations, color, and visuals used for the journaling pages corresponding to the work of the Solar Plexus Charka (Manipura):

“… I am future ancient, born now. An infinite soul of love empowered by the cosmos. Activated from the core of my true self; and invaluable, radiant, incomparable individual. I know how to serve in loving truth…”9

Much of what the focus centered around was that of stepping into your own power and owning the truth that evolves from that space. Energetically, the Solar Plexus is the seat of the individual’s strength and fuels the forms that action and will take. It is depicted as yellow sun-filled energy.

The colorings used in Self-Love Journal were actually more of a honey-gold that immediately took me to thoughts of the honeycomb, bees, and the power of the queen to command and oversee the production of the sweet nectar of honey that will nourish and sustain. This gave a very warm feel to what is often an intensely heated engagement with this chakra. This, coupled with imagery, provides the reader with a truly organic calling into the heart of the sweetness of the hive, the intricate and beautiful patterning of the comb and preparation to take on the mantle of the “queen bee”.

Self-Love Journal is truly a journal to be experienced. There is something of connection to be made by anyone, whether it is the guidance of the chakras, the inspirational statements, the beautifully rich illustrations or the overall visual beauty. And, if you are interested in supplementing your journaling with oracle or mini cards of inspiration, Pritam also has available an oracle deck (Self Love Oracle: Find Peace and Happiness through the Chakras) and inspiration cards (Let Go: Mini Inspiration Cards). I’ve just ordered the oracle deck!

Kali Journal, by Alana Fairchid

Kali Journal:  Sadhana for Sacred Introversion, by Alana Fairchild and ilustrated by Jimmy Manton
Blue Angel Publishing, 0648746751, 220 pages, 2021

On first glance at the Kali Journal: Sadhana for Sacred Introversion, my senses were overwhelmed with the beauty and majesty of the artwork.  Author Alana Fairchild and artist Jimmy Manton have taken the incredible art from her Kali Oracle Deck and interspersed the pages of this journal with the stunning images.  There are over 40 full page, full color renderings of the Goddess Kali, her ritualistic tools, and other sacred symbols.

In addition to presenting a journal that includes both lined pages and a few unlined pages for sketching or other uses, Fairchild adds general information about Kali, moon phase rituals, mantras and a prayer dance for healing.   Each of the two page spreads also includes an affirmation, blessing or message from Goddess Kali. The paper is a very nice quality and is a warm buff color that really sets off the artwork.

Alana Fairchild is a spiritual mentor based in Australia, who has published over 20 oracle decks, 30 albums of sacred music and meditations, and 13 books. Since I have a few of Fairchild’s oracle decks, this journal really interested me.  Jimmy Manton is the artist for the artwork.  He is an award-winning illustrator who is also based in Australia.  He has illustrated numerous tarot and oracle decks.

When I initially opened the Kali Journal, I was really interested in learning more about the history of the goddess and how she represents the energy of the Divine Mother/Divine Feminine. According to Fairchild, Kali represents the “wild, gracious and transformational realm of the dark face of the Divine Mother.”10 I was intrigued and drawn in, anxious to know more about how the Goddess Kali might support me on my spiritual path. Kali is the Hindu Goddess of time, creation, destruction, power and liberation.  The very first quote was quite arresting:

Within, you have the power of the Divine Mother’s wisdom and blessing.
Do not underestimate her.
Do not underestimate yourself.11

Fairchild explains that “Sadhana” comes from the Sanskrit and means “to accomplish.” In this use, she is referring to spiritual practices that foster healing and support us as we move toward enlightenment. Introversion is a psychological term that means the tendency to be concerned with one’s own thoughts and feelings, rather than with external things. So, this journal is a tool to help one with accomplishing a review of one’s thoughts and feelings.

One particular Kali yantra and mudra practice really supported me through a time when I was experiencing a struggle with my mother.  It is called “Kali Yantra and Mudra Practice to Banish Negative Interference.” With this practice, I learned that a YANTRA is a sacred geometric symbol that can act as a portal to the temple of a god or goddess. One gazes on the visual element, as you would a candle flame or other sacred symbol. The practice also included a special hand mudra and several mantas for recitation. By invoking the power of Kali and using the specific mudra, the yantra, and several mantras, I was able to realign, recalibrate, and heal myself. The next time I talked with my mother, I was aware of my own healing and an energetic shift that had taken place.

Fairchild has created a journal that can benefit anyone, from the novice spiritual seeker to a seasoned soul traveler.  You can go as deep with the rituals as you want to go or simply use the lined pages as a journal and benefit from the uplifting messages on each page. The book is an undated journal, which you can use for any purpose you want. Both covers are designed with a folded extension, so you can mark your place in your journal. I really love this feature and the cover is a nice card stock that makes this feature easy to use.

The Kali artwork really brings alive the energy and history of Kali and inspires me every time I open the pages. Manton’s use of rich, jewel-tone colors makes each depiction of the Goddess Kali and her consorts come alive on the page.  Many of the images portray the goddess with blue skin, burgundy lips, and dark penetrating eyes.  Yet, these images are not scary or off-putting.  Rather, each one seems to jump off the page with an aliveness that is spontaneous, inspiring, and arresting.

Kali Journal is for anyone wanting to release and heal life issues and seek the liberation that the Goddess Kali can bring into your life. I recommend this journal for anyone who wants to connect to the magic and healing power of Kali, the “goddess of fierce protection and wild grace.”12 I plan to use the journal for my weekly Saturday wrap-up and use the rituals to release the week and move on to new adventures.
