Wise Earth Medicine Tarot by Lalania Simone is a beautifully crafted deck that seamlessly blends the traditional elements of tarot with the healing energies of the Earth. Drawing upon the vibrancy and sacred wisdom of 78 animals and plants, this deck shares the perspective of each traditional tarot card through the wisdom of the natural world.This deck offers a unique medicine for the soul, and readers will certainly enjoy the grounding energies that come through in the readings.

“The earth is a generous being and an incredible well of infinite wisdom. This powerful spirit provides for us every day, in every day, delivering the sustenance we need to survive and thrive in our lives.”1

As soon as I opened this deck, I felt the radiance of its primal wisdom coursing through me. The gilded green edges of the card contained an intelligence that goes beyond human intellect: the sage wisdom of the animal and plant kingdoms. Looking through the colorful cards, I saw a crow, bear, bunny, moose, dragonfly, and so many other creatures whose insights I was eager to hear, especially in regard to the wisdom of the tarot which I was already very familiar with.

In the guidebook introduction, Simone provides an overview of the tarot structure, discussing the significance of the major and minor arcana, along with an explanation of court cards. She notes how this deck has corresponding natural elements for each of the traditional tarot suites: Water for Cups, Wind for Swords, Fire for Wands, and Earth for Pentacles. She also offers one suggested spread for readers to use.

For each card, the guidebook lists the corresponding traditional tarot card, key words, a card overview (the content ranges from a description of the card’s symbolism/meaning to a question to reflect on to an important message coming through), and finally a section on the medicine the animal or plant featured on the card offers to the reader. The passages are short, but there’s enough guidance packed in to gain meaningful insight. My favorite section is “The Medicine”, as this is where the deck really stands out for its unique perspective on the tarot and integrates nature’s wisdom.

All the cards are filled with flowers, plants, and the moon, in addition to the main animal or plant representing the card’s energy. Plus, three keywords are shared at the bottom of the card to give it meaning. The textured background gives the cards visual dimension, making the images appear lively and in motion. There’s lots of little details that capture the essence of nature’s beauty, from the texture of the wolf’s fur to the delicate features of the hummingbird’s wing. The cards are active and alive, inviting readers to be in direct communion with the life force within the deck.

There is shamanic wisdom held within in this deck. While one can definitely use it for divination, I am mostly enjoying it for self-discovery and personal growth. I love tapping into the energy of nature and discovering the wisdom of Earth’s marvelous creations when working with the deck. Each card is a pathway to a greater understanding of nature, serving as a tool to strengthen the reader’s bond to the strength and beauty of the Earth.

One thing I will note is that I’ve noticed my mind doesn’t automatically translate these cards to the traditional Rider-Waite-Smith corresponding tarot because of the animal or plant presence. Since most tarot decks still use human depictions, especially for the court cards and major arcana, it’s easy to make the connection to the card’s meaning. But the presence of animals and plants in this deck gets my mind wandering some place else entirely, and I end up finding new intuitive messages coming  through beyond the traditional tarot meanings. I really enjoy the non-anthropomorphic focus of this deck!

I’ve been working with this deck daily and have gotten very resonant messages. One of my favorite pulls so far was when I asked if I should continue to push through and finish an astrological certification program that I’ve been working towards completing over the past year. I’m at the point where I’m just about finished but starting to wonder if I will ever really be done and ready to submit my final project. The card I pulled was Wise Earth, which corresponds to The World card in traditional tarot.

The keywords on the card are “completion•integration•wholeness”2. I instantly felt relieved that the card indicated I would get this project finished and bring it to completion! My happiness only grew once I read the guidebook message:

“Something in your life has reached a meaningful completion, or soon will. It is time to harvest the fruits of your labor. Celebrate this moment in your journey, for as one cycle ends, another begins.”3

Ahhh, just what I needed to hear to give me the motivation to make the final push to submit my work!

Another card I pulled earlier in the week was 2 of Fire, featuring a camel on the card. I had asked what to focus on that day, and this was the camel’s message for me in The Medicine section of the guidebook:

“It is time to take stock of your present circumstances and plan for the next phase of your life. The camel looks ahead and is prepared for the long journey. Its message is to set yourself up for success in any way you can.”4

I loved this message! And throughout the rest of the day, whenever I found myself procrastinating, I thought of the camel’s energy, encouraging me to do what needs to get done today for a better tomorrow.

Overall, Wise Earth Medicine Tarot is the perfect deck for those who seek the wisdom of the natural world, in particular the guidance of animal and plant spirits. Simone has truly integrated the tarot with messages from nature’s allies, providing a new perspective on traditional tarot messages. The beautiful artwork, featuring an animal or plant on every card, makes for some unique spreads. Tarot enthusiasts and nature lovers alike will enjoy working with this deck for personal reflection, meditation, or divination, as it provides an enriching experience that is both grounding and enlightening.

Elemental Goddess Oracle, created by Bronwyn Millar, is a spiritual tool designed to empower individuals through the sacred energies of the five natural elements from Chinese medicine, as well as the four elements of Western energy. This exquisite deck offers a blend of artistry, intuition, and mystical insight and is “channeled from dimensions where the sacred feminine and the sacred masculine are balanced.”5

Millar is from Johannesburg, South Africa and was educated at the Johannesburg Art Foundation. She sketches from photos and then paints with oils on canvas and board. She is also a kinesiologist, who works with the five natural elements in her practice with clients. After an experience with psilocybin, Millar discovered the healing wisdom of interdimensional goddesses and began to sketch and paint her visions. She lives in South Africa.

The deck is arranged in five sections, each representing one of the five natural elements: wood, water, earth, fire and metal. In the guidebook, Millar explains the five natural elements, how each relates to specific organs and systems of the body, and how they work together to regulate the chi, or life force energy.  She also explains her inclusion of the four Western elements and how these are complementary:

“Because the goddesses have emerged from different dimensions, their elemental language is complex; It is truly multidimensional. Five or four elements alone would give us less to work with and combinations of both expand the scope of what the goddesses can communicate.”6

The first goddess Millar drew was Medusa, Goddess of the Loving Eye. This goddess captures the snake-like hair of Medusa, as well as a third eye and a prayerful pose. She embodies the Chinese element of fire and the Western element of earth. 

Slowly, Millar drew another goddess, and another, until she had twelve goddesses. At this point, she knew: “They were coming to this dimension from other dimensions where the divine balance is the case—and they had lessons for us about how powerful the divine feminine is when she is in her power.” 7 

After she had drawn 45 goddesses, the beautiful beings organized themselves into the five areas of the natural elements and she began muscle testing for “each Goddess’s meridians, acupoints, emotions and Western elements. . . . I would then, again with very little conscious thought, write the Goddess’s accompanying text and exercises.”8

The cards are true works of art. Each card includes a goddess, which is a combination of pencil sketch and rich, bold colors. Most of the faces are shown only as a pencil sketch and it is interesting how this technique breathes real life into each of the beautiful creatures. Millar numbers each card, names the goddess, provides a brief, healing phrase and lists the Chinese and Western elements.

Within the guidebook, Millar recaps all the information shown on the card and adds key words, a paragraph of guidance, an acupoint for healing, a practice to utilize the acupoint, and an affirmation. The rich text allows you to deepen your spiritual practice and connect with the natural elements. Whether you want to select a card and only read the guidance or fully immerse yourself in the experience and add the acupoint practice and affirmation is up to you. Millar also includes ideas for spreads and ways to integrate the wisdom into your daily life.

The guidebook is organized for easy navigation, providing a table of contents and listing the cards within the five natural elements and in number order.  Once you know the number of your card, it is easy to find in the guidebook, either by thumbing through the book or checking the table of contents.  The cards also have a color band at the bottom to designate the Chinese element, such as red for the fire element. I really appreciate these tools to help the card reader to find the information and understand even more about each Goddess.  

To test drive the deck, I allowed Facebook friends to blindly select one of three cards. Later, I shared each goddess and the message from the guidebook.  The feedback was very positive: 

D.A. got Goddess of Walking the Way and wrote: “Middle card is spot on!  That was fun!”

M.H. received Goddess of the Forest and responded: “Thank you for this today. I chose the left card, and it was a spot-on affirmation. I was let go from my job last Thursday with no rationale and caught completely off guard. My guides have been giving me signs it was time to move on and then this happened. Meanwhile, I’ve started an online boutique and I’m doing my first vendor fair this Friday night to sell personalized crafts. This card resonated so well and literally lifted off the screen for me to pick it.  Please let the publisher know they are well done.”

S.M. chose Goddess of Truest Self and replied: “Interesting this is my card. I have been becoming more into my truest self and feel that I am more authentic and in touch with God and my path than ever before.”  

The cards in the deck are printed on a high-quality cardstock with a glossy finish.  The cards are standard oracle deck size, and the box is a sturdy two-part design that easily houses both the cards and the guidebook. The box colors are vibrant, with turquoise accents and an orange interior. The back of the cards features a beautiful kaleidoscope design against a hot pink background. The colors of this deck are truly stunning!  

I love the beauty, wisdom, and healing found in Elemental Goddess Oracle.  Whether you are a seasoned reader or a newcomer to oracle decks, this deck offers a rich and healing experience. Millar has created a true gem that invites us to explore the divine feminine and the elemental forces that correspond with life itself. Feeling like you need a shift energy, but can’t put your finger on what to do about it? Kitchen Witch Oracle by Jena Dellagrottaglia is an engaging oracle deck that merges the mystical energy work with the practical world of kitchen alchemy. Each card offers a variety of readers spells, incantations, and natural remedies readers can easily perform using everyday ingredients to shift their energy and call in their intentions, like a true sorceress in the kitchen.

In the introduction to this deck, Dellagrottaglia offers a heartfelt tribute to her late grandmother, or Nona as she says in Italian, who taught her the ways of being a cucina strega (kitchen witch). I found it quite touching that she created this deck with such love, choosing to share her family’s special wisdom with readers. Her thoughtful intention for this deck shines throughout each card, creating an ancestral connection when working with it.

The cards in the deck are divided into four categories of intention: focus, balance, manifestation, and protection. This makes it so readers can use the deck in a variety of ways. If one knows the type of intention they are seeking, they can pull from the specific category. Or, as always, one can pull a card randomly from the entire deck to see what they get to either perform the working on the card or let the card’s intention guide their day. Dellagrottaglia has also indicated specific seasons that are the best time for the working on many of the cards, so readers can look through and find a working that aligns with the current seasonal energy.

As for the cards, Dellagrottaglia describes them as pulsing “with the energies of herbs, spices, and oil, which serve as keys to unlock the secrets of natural magic.”1 There’s all types of scenery depicted on them, most portraying witchy women, but some feature still-life scenes or animals. There’s lots of visual clues to stimulate one’s intuition that speaks through the imagery. Mixtures of kitchen items, cauldrons, magical symbols, and elemental settings invoke powerful feelings when gazing at the cards. Past and present merge, blending the infinite timeline of women practicing kitchen witchcraft, giving readers a connection to a long-standing lineage of wise witches.

One each card there is an incantation at the bottom, and one can go to the guidebook for more insight in the cards’ meanings. In the guidebook, Dellagrottaglia shares a bit of background about the card, providing context about the potion or spell, shares a list of ingredients needed, and then gives detailed instructions. Unlike other oracle decks, there is no specific message of guidance. Surely, one can make use of the incantation for the card for divination purposes, but the deck is definitely more geared towards action. I mean, isn’t that the whole way of the kitchen witch? Crafting and blending her will to put out into the world…

And if kitchen witchcraft is something new for you, then this deck is perfect because throughout the deck, Dellagrottaglia shares plenty of practical tips and insights so one feels at ease doing this type of magic. There’s short sections in the guidebook on preparing one’s kitchen, the importance of intent, stocking ingredients (which also include a long list of ingredients and the intent they enhance), and magical tools. This information not only enriches the reader’s understanding of how to incorporate witchcraft into daily life, but also provides a wonderful overview to make them feel confident in their practice.

Granted, as well prepared as you might think you are with ingredients, you might find yourself in the same situation as me, frantically dialing my partner to make sure I reached him while he was still at the grocery store so I could tell him to pick up a few lemons and some rosemary. After a day of feeling very out of sorts, I pulled the card Citrus Rosemary Cleanse, which Dellagrottaglia is “a simple old midwives’ practice to cleanse your aura, boost your positivity, and help you get out of a rut.”2

The instructions explained to cut the lemon in half, add the rosemary sprig to the center of the lemon, and then sprinkle the lemon with sea salt. Then I took the lemon and moved it around my body as I imagined “the negativity drawing out into the center of the lemon like smoke furling away from you,”3 just like Dellagrottaglia describes.

Believe it or not, I’ve now drawn this card twice, so I’m glad I stocked up on the lemons!

Another card I enjoyed was Focus and Alert Simmer Pot. Once again, this spell called for a lemon, along with an orange, sage, eucalyptus oil (optional), and water. Dellagrottaglia explains how to stir the ingredients together in a simmer pot, infusing the intention as you do so, and then once cooled, transferring the brew into a glass jar or spray bottle. Then you can spray or drizzle the brew outside your windows to welcome in focused energy.

And there’s so many other cards I am excited to work with in this deck! Dellagrottaglia shares kitchen witch recipes for such a wonderful variety of things: reclaiming your power, removing back luck, money manifestation, attracting love, finding a new job or getting a raise, peaceful and soulful alignment, relieving stress, lucid dreaming, and more.

The card I am looking forward to working with soon is Limoncello Blessings, which Dellagrottaglia describes as “a lovely concoction for creating close family and community ties.”10 I think it would be fun to make and share with my community during the Summer Solstice.

Overall, Kitchen Witch Oracle is a delightful and inspiring oracle for anyone interested in the alchemy that can be done with common kitchen ingredients. Its practical approach and beautiful presentation make it a valuable addition to the library of both aspiring and seasoned kitchen witches. Whether you’re looking to enhance your culinary creations with a touch of magic or seeking natural ways to bring your intention outward, this book offers a treasure trove of wisdom and inspiration from Dellagrottaglia’s personal family recipes and her own experience as a magical kitchen witch.

The Awakening Tarot: An Elemental Approach by Monica Bodirsky is truly a deck that you will learn so much from. I was very drawn to this deck, and I can see very much why this was: Boridsky uses her brilliantly unusual and stunning watercolor artwork that is reminiscent of the 70’s. With her knowledgeable guidance through Earth-based spirituality, she creates this powerful deck that will be your framework to build you up and help guide you on your spiritual awakening.

Boridsky created this deck out of love for her divination and witchy practices, as well as her own experiences with awakening as well as being inspired by C.J Jung’s idea of external dreaming and the internal process of awakening. She is also moved to share her experiences with awakening to help others expand and grow creatively as well as spiritually. This deck will teach you how to become awakened and empowered spiritually, and you will learn to expand your consciousness with groundbreaking lessons from each of the elemental guides: water, fire, air, earth, and spirit.

The deck is very nicely packaged. There is a larger box with artwork of the Balance card. You open the box to reveal your deck in its own little box with artwork of the Nine of Air card on it. 

The deck is truly perfect to help hone and understand the powers that you were given; through each card there is a lesson to be learned. The deck’s accompanying book will also guide you into “shadow work”, which is key to any spiritual awakening journey. Along with the shadow work, each card is shown on the page with both upright and reversed meanings as well as a mantra and a short message.

The guidebook is decently thick and has a lot of great information and insight. It is very easy to understand and it gives clarity and extraordinary insight. Like any normal Rider-Waite-Smith (RWS) tarot deck, the major and minor arcana are included. They have similar aspects to the RWS cards, but instead of the normal suits we’re familiar with, these are replaced with each suit’s respective elemental correspondence. For example, fire is wands, water is cups, earth is pentacles, and air is swords.

I do have to say for a fact this information tracks with what I know of the traditional card meanings. Plus, there is also a helpful guide at the beginning that tells you each correlating card, along with pictures for each card with a description accompanying the image.

Each element has its own section and it gives a lot of helpful information. It includes helpful keywords, manifestations, exercises, and healing rituals, reflection questions. Also, each section is color-coded, you can see it on the side of the book, this makes it super simple to find the card you’re looking for! 

The guidebook is also very beautifully written. It blew me away with how much information it provides. Compared to some of my other decks, this is the first deck I have come across with such a well-written guidebook.

The deck shuffles with great ease and the cards fit perfectly in your hands. The cards are nice and sturdy. To say the least, these cards have been crafted perfectly. Each card uniquely showcases each element in a humanoid manner combined with that element.

Four of Fire had to be my favorite card that I had pulled, it depicts a humanoid figure with a fiery-colored fox head with a human body holding a sparkler with fireworks in the background. This shows the connection between us and the elements in a completely different way. Every card has art that is as eye-catching as the next, you could just gaze upon it and get lost in its beauty and detail for a good while.

If you’re a novice to tarot and working with the RWS deck, this deck is perfect to work with. You will find the messages to be clear and easy to understand, I was able to tell instantly which card corresponds to the RWS deck without using the guide at the beginning of the book!

I’ve been using this deck for about two weeks now and I really felt an instant connection to it. I just went to pull a card for myself and this is what I got for the Visionary of Water upright, which is a court card that corresponds to the Knight of Cups in the RWS deck.

The advice given said that I have reached the highest peak of emotional growth despite feeling alone. I’m a part of a good community, my visions are appreciated, and right now is my moment to move above and beyond and share my visions with a larger audience. What stuck out the most was this part, explaining how I need to move on in my career to a more creatively challenging job. Boridsky writes: 

“To assist with the complexity of integrating self-development and divination, I have created this deck and guide as a method for us to transition from potentially feeling like passive observers in our lives to becoming active, awake, and empowered participants.“11

This card was insanely on par with what I’m doing currently as I write this review.

Overall, The Awakening Tarot is for those who seek a genuine connection with the elements and themselves. If you’re interested in working with a one-of-a-kind deck with an innovative take on the normal RWS deck then this deck will most definitely suit your fancy, as the artwork is so unique. This deck is a good elemental approach to a traditional tarot deck. It is easy to understand, and it’s a deck that you’ll appreciate with all of its creativity.

Taylor Eaton has created a galaxy of cards with unique portals to abundance in her beautiful deck called Cosmic Wealth Codes Affirmation Deck. The 55-card unique deck is circular in design and feature artwork by Stephanie Wicker-Campbell. The matching journal that can also be purchased extends the life of the cards by providing spreads, journal prompts, and lots of room to record your thoughts, dreams and goals. 

Eaton is “money mindset & Human Design coach, who loves to help entrepreneurs step into their limitless potential in their business!”12 What interests me is how she utilizes Human Design to create business plans for herself and her clients. On her website, she offers numerous free PDFs and resources, and her blog also features free guided meditations for the various Human Design types. Wicker-Campbell is a gifted illustrator and artist who combines artwork in a way that is simply out of this world. She has illustrated numerous oracle decks, journals, and book covers in rich hues and beautiful renderings, including Creatrix Awakened Oracle Deck and Daily Light Affirmation Deck. Wicker-Campbell was born in the US and now lives in Sydney, Australia.

As Eaton says on the first card in the deck: 

“You are a cosmic miracle. Constructed of stardust and forged by supernovas, nothing about you is short of magical. You are an extension of the divine–you are the magic and the wealth of the universe, distilled down into this glorious life.”13

Unusual in its round design, Cosmic Wealth Codes Affirmation Deck feature an affirmation that can be utilized in daily meditation, journaling, or personal reflection time. Please note that there is no guidebook for this deck.  What you see is what you get! Each card features the affirmation around the top of the card and beautiful artwork in the center.

The cards are unique, with artwork featuring a cosmic portal, a character or characters from another culture or time, and vibrant, rich colors and designs that do not repeat.  Eaton explains that each card features “Cosmic Wealth Codes—mantras uniquely designed to activate the codes for wealth that run throughout the fabric of the cosmos and are thereby woven into the tapestry of your soul.”14

For the characters or people depicted in the cards, Wicker-Campbell does not feature eyes or noses or other facial features. Rather, she covers the face with a night sky, featuring a myriad of stars against a black or dark expanse. In a few cases, this sky is brightly colored, like a purple storm. For other cards, she features pieces of classical sculpture. 

To test drive the deck, I took it to my Friday Coffee & Cards group. I asked each lady to select a card, take a photo, and look at it daily for 7 days. On Monday, one of my friends contacted me and said that by looking at her card every day, she had an epiphany. The card she drew was: 

“Whatever I give with a grateful heart is returned to me tenfold.”15

The card features a pink-haired lady with a face of purple clouds and a burnished moon and tree behind her.

My friend explained that she had been struggling with how to relate to a family member and that after focusing every day on the image on the card and the affirmation, she came to a new understanding. She said, “I can’t explain it, but I now know exactly what to do now and going forward. The only thing that changed was my use of that card!”

For myself, I used the card spread called Wealth Code Activation Spread. In this spread, you draw three cards and then use the cards to answer three questions Eaton poses. I experienced a similar result to that of my friend: by focusing on the messages in the three cards, I came to realize something new. This revelation led me to change a feature on my website and that is leading to more interaction with my clients and future clients as well.  

My favorite card in the deck reads: “I open the channel for cosmic abundance by resting. Relaxation is productive and profitable.”16 This card really speaks to me because I tend to overwork and overpromise and need reminders to rest when I am tired. The idea that relaxation is also profitable is a bit of a mind shift for me and I love it! 

These cards are printed on high-quality card stock, which seems very durable and makes the cards perfect for daily use. There must be a light varnish on the cards, because they are a mix of glossy and matte. The finish is perfect for showing off the artwork. However, it does not show fingerprints. The sturdy box that houses the cards is a square, two-part design that will hold up well over time.

What I like best about these affirmation cards is their ease of use. Whether you are a beginner in the world of manifestation or have been using the Law of Attraction for a few years, the Cosmic Wealth Codes Affirmation Deck is accessible and straightforward.  These cards are an exceptional tool for anyone seeking to enhance their financial well-being and overall abundance. I’ll be using these cards at public events with various groups, as well as closing out client readings with one or two cards.

If you’re ready to unlock the secrets of abundance and transform your life, the Cosmic Wealth Codes Affirmation Deck are a perfect starting point. As a creator known for her vibrant and symbolic artwork, Harma combines her visual art with meaningful guidance to help readers see it’s for the best to love and appreciate all parts of who they are, even when they seem undesirable or messy. Her artistic vision reminds readers that they have many sides to themselves, all of which are queens in their own right, worthy of honor and respect.

Each oracle card depicts a different queen, all of which are unique and admirable in their own right. There’s Queen of trying to Keep it Together and Queen of Pure Essence, Queen of Sensuality and Queen of Masked Emotions. What I love about these creative queens is that they’re a realistic reflection of the many ways people often feel during both high and low moments. While not specifically focused on shadow, Harma definitely has designed her queens to acknowledge a full spectrum of womanhood.

Harma’s vivid illustrations really pop in this deck, each one rich with color and symbolism. There’s an abstract, surreal feeling to the cards, which I feel intuitively taps readers into their creative, transcendent self. Some queens wear jewelry or masks, while others are bare in their bright tapestry of color. The intricate details and symbols, particularly in the hair, face, and shoulders of her figures, add layers of meaning to each card.

The artwork in this deck absolutely has a feeling of movement, bringing a sense of fluidity and emotional expression to each queen. Working with the imagery in this deck reminds me that life is always moving; we too can improvise, shift, and be spontaneous. Simply gazing at each powerful queen is a moving experience, inviting readers to ponder their own inner qualities and how they can better connect with them.

The guidebook is also very insightful, promoting both self-reflection and personal empowerment. The messages lead readers to recognize the queen within themselves and discover her message. For each card, Harma provides an overview of the queen, guidance on how to find her within oneself, and the gift the queen has to offer. Each entry is a good length (around 3 pages), providing plenty of inspiration through the integration of Harma’s uplifting guidance.

One thing I really like about the deck is how Harma encourages readers to make a ritual of their reading by doing something that denotes the sacredness of it, such as lighting a candle, holding a personal item, or spending time in front of an altar. As someone who tends to pull out their deck for a quick answer, I loved her suggestion because it reminds me it’s best to slow down and truly sink into a reading.

I’ve used this deck for over a week now, trying out the different spreads Harma offers and connecting with the queens that come through each day. And while I’ve really enjoyed discovering each queen within myself, the ones that have stuck out the most for me were the queens that called out pieces of myself that I wasn’t recognizing: Queen of Insecurity and Queen of Feeling Off.

There’s something about being seen when you’re not “on”, even if it was by the cards in my reading, that made me feel a huge sense of relief. I didn’t need to hide anymore; the cards laid me bare and offered meaningful insight into how these “undesirable” feelings actually hold gifts for me. Harma says of the Queen of Insecurity:

“The queen of insecurity embodies the essence of vulnerability and self-doubt. She is the part of you that feels fragile and uncertain, often questioning your worth and abilities. Despite her perceived weaknesses she processes a unique charm and depth, and feels deeply and profoundly.”2

I loved this, as I often forget that feeling deeply is something that I don’t need to be ashamed of and being able to appreciate the range of feelings that come from this quality is something I can honor rather than reject. Similarly, the Queen of Feeling Off card made me reflect on how these states of being are not permanent; I can temporarily feel out of alignment and take note when it happens because it points me to a deeper truth.

Overall, I Am Queen Oracle is a beautiful fusion of art and introspection. This deck speaks to all pieces of one’s soul while also engaging the senses and emotions through powerful artwork. This deck is for those looking to discover the many queens within themselves, allowing themselves the space to open up to gifts and messages each one has to offer.

I highly recommend this deck for those looking for daily inspiration or connection to their inner self. Harma does a wonderful job of revealing the layers of ourselves that have the potential to lead us deeper into self-care, self-love, and self-empowerment. It has a real “girl power” feeling that I just love!

Serving as a bridge between the human and animal realms, Androic offers guidance and wisdom through the lens of nature’s beloved creatures. Readers will discover their personal animal allies and discover qualities they can draw on to overcome obstacles, find inner peace, and discover new aspects of themselves.

This deck consists of beautifully illustrated cards, which were all originally hand-painted by Androic. Her artwork is absolutely stunning, filled with soothing elements that bring the spirit of the animal right into the room with the reader. The spiritual qualities of the animals in this deck shine through Androic’s enchanting artistry, capturing the essence of each animal in a way that resonates on a deep level. There is a supremely peaceful quality to the cards, and I often find my soul quieted by simply gazing at the images.

The cards in this deck emphasize the interconnectedness of all life forms and encourage users to tap into the ancient wisdom of the animal kingdom. Some cards feature just the animal, while other cards showcase a strong, loving bond between a woman and the animal. I enjoy both depictions, as the animals alone highlight how much I cherish and respect the animal kingdom, while the images with women in them remind me I have the ability to create my own bond with animal spirits too. The guidebook offers clear instructions on how to conduct readings, from simple one-card pulls to more complex spreads, as well as guidance on how to recognize one’s spirit animal. Androic’s writing is heartfelt and insightful, making the spiritual messages easy to reflect on and integrate.

On each card there are a few key words, but for those seeking more guidance, the guidebook is filled with insight into the card’s meaning. For the guidebook entries, Androic gives a one-sentence divination followed by a few paragraph explanation of the animal spirit. These descriptions often include the animal spirit’s strength, what they have to teach the reader, and the spiritual symbolism of the animal. There are also three affirmations provided that readers can use to further embody the divinatory message and connect with the energy of that animal spirit.

One thing I really enjoy about this deck is the range of animals Androic has depicted and channeled messages from. The animals come from all over the world, different climates, and even different time periods. I was thrilled to pull the card Dinosaur one day, as I thought it was a creative addition to the deck. There’s even mythological creatures such as Phoenix and Dragon. Other animals in the deck include Wolf, Jaguar, Polar Bear, Flamingo, Deer, Butterfly, Whale, Rhino, Dog, and more!

The card I pulled today was Jellyfish. I was very excited to get this card because just yesterday I visited the aquarium and really enjoyed my time watching the jellyfish float around in their tank. It felt resonant, as I have been feeling rather go-with-the-flow today, and the guidebook message reminded me of the need to continue to more deeply surrender to this state. Androic writes of jellyfish:

“They also symbolize the beauty of letting go of attachments and expectations. With their simple existence, they remind us that we don’t always need to strive for more. They teach us that true acceptance lies in embracing the present moment fully, without resistance or judgment.”18

I have repeated the Jellyfish affirmation, “I release my fears and worries, knowing that I am support dand guided at all time”19, a few times today, and it immediately drew my attention back into the present moment and helped me to relax.

Overall, Animal Spirit Oracle is an absolutely lovely deck that brings readers in touch with the wisdom of the animal realm. The combination of Androic’s spectacular artwork and meaningful messages makes it a powerful tool for anyone seeking guidance from the natural world. Whether you’re new to oracle cards or an experienced reader, this deck is a lovely addition to your collection for when you’re seeking gentle yet meaningful guidance.

Manifestation Tarot by Jayne Wallace with illustrations by Julia Cellini is a beautiful deck that promises to guide users on a transformative journey of self-discovery and manifestation. I was drawn to this deck by the artwork and idea of adding manifestation to my tarot journey.

As a well-known clairvoyant medium, Wallace brings her wealth of experience and deep understanding of the esoteric arts to create a deck that is both visually stunning and spiritually enriching. Wallace has written for many publications and authored four books, along with appearing on television in both the UK and America. She lives in Essex, UK.

Julia Cellini is an illustrator who works in a variety of mediums, specializing in watercolor and digital art. She finds inspiration in nature and has recently completed a series of works based on deities. She lives in Hawaii and loves exploring the flora and fauna in her tropical home. 

The first thing that strikes me about Manifestation Tarot is its breathtaking artwork. Each card is a masterpiece, adorned with vibrant colors and intricate designs that capture the essence of the tarot archetypes. The imagery is a blend of traditional Rider-Waite-Smith symbolism and modern themes. For example, the Magician is pictured as female, the Hanged Man is shown in more modern dress, and the Moon features a domesticated dog and cat. 

Wallace has infused each major arcana card with rich symbolism that resonates with the themes of personal empowerment and manifestation. The major arcana “embodies a powerful archetype or lesson that can help clarify your intentions, make informed decisions, and foster a deeper understanding of yourself and the world around you.”19

The minor arcana delves into the “different facets of human experience, influencing our intentions, energy, and the universe’s response to our desires. Together these elements offer an approach to manifesting and the law of attraction.”20 The minor arcana features beautiful, symbolic artwork on the court cards and simple drawings of the suit symbol for all the other cards, much like the Tarot de Marseille. 

All the cards in this deck also feature the name of the card and an affirmation that recaps the main theme of the card. For example, the Seven of Pentacles shares this affirmation: “Persistence in my efforts will yield security.” The back of the cards features what Wallace calls “The Flower of Manifestation,” a rainbow-colored lotus flower which “represents faith in ourselves.”21

A four-color guidebook provides detailed explanations of each card, along with practical tips on how to use the deck for manifestation and spiritual growth. Wallace begins with a brief introduction, including how to prepare your cards for reading. She also shares tips for reading the cards, including numerous spreads for both basic readings and manifestation. She features keywords, the mantra, and relevant meanings for each card in the deck.

To test drive the cards I chose to do the manifestation Seven Day Challenge. Wallace explains this is a “great way to kick start your connection to the rule of attraction.”22 For this challenge, I separated the major arcana cards from the rest of the deck and chose one card each day for seven days. I made a note of the affirmation on the card and any key information from the guidebook.  

Each day I shuffled the major arcana cards and drew one card to be my guiding light for the day.  Wallace recommends that you say the mantra or affirmation out loud seven times that day. She explains: “At the end of the week look at the story your cards have told you. The universe has given you a blueprint of where you should be heading in life at the moment.”23

I took an index card and recorded the card and the mantra for each day.  It was interesting to see the variety and the compatibility of the messages I received. I am looking forward to trying some of the other spreads, including one she calls “The Staircase of Success,” which asks you to shuffle the cards and then lay down the cards in a stair step fashion  as “a way of seeing how your future is going to unfold in a time frame, usually a year, but it can be a shorter or longer.”24

The cards are a standard size, yet the cardstock seems a little light for durability and ease of handling during shuffling and readings. I’m guessing the cards may bend quite easily over time. The deck comes in a beautifully designed, two-part box that protects the cards and the guidebook.

I loved the beauty of the cards and the rich language of the guidebook. Wallace and Cellini have put a new spin on the tarot with this deck. This deck would be great for both seasoned tarot readers and beginners. I’ll use this deck for the next few weeks for my daily one card draw, to benefit from the rich guidance and manifestation tips. I also plan to take it to my next Friday Coffee & Cards group meeting to share with my friends.

From the Fool, symbolizing new beginnings and infinite potential, to the World, denoting the fulfillment of goals and the completion of cycles, Manifestation Tarot serve as powerful reminders of the innate power within everyone. The interpretations provided in the guidebook are insightful and encourage deep reflection, helping users connect with the core messages of each card.

“The brilliant thing about manifesting is, even if you’re a warrior or a negative Nelly, using this deck you can switch your mindset from scarcity to abundance and supercharge your manifestation potential.”25

The Ofrenda Oracle: Celebrating the Day of the Dead by Nancy Hendrickson and Carrie Paris is a beautiful deep dive into the world of divination, spirituality, and ancestor reverence. In this oracle deck, the creators draw upon the rich traditions of Día de los Muertos, inviting readers to connect with their heritage and the wisdom of those who came before them.

“This oracle was created to honor those who have passed beyond the Great Veil, to facilitate messages from the Otherworld, or to divine your own future.”21

The format of this deck is very interesting. Creators Hendrickson and Paris designed it as two systems in one deck. Readers can either use Cards 1 through 36 as a standard Lenormand deck, or they can use all 60 cards together in the form of a regular oracle deck. The first 36 cards have the Lenormand symbolism on them, while Cards 37 through 56 feature symbolic images that represent aspects of Día de los Muertos.

There’s also a special card, “The Ofrenda”, that “represents the offerings left on the Altar de los Muertos”22, which the creators recommend placing face up when working with the cards to the remind the reader of their ancestors while doing their reading.

Each card is beautifully illustrated, featuring vibrant colors and symbolic imagery that pay homage to  Día de los Muertos, offering multiple layers of interpretation for users. The dark blue cards are filled with vibrant colors (red, yellow, white, purple, light blue) that pop in the style of traditional Mexican art. When looking at the artistry of this deck, one feels an instant connection to the modern cultures that celebrate Día de los Muertos along with Aztex and Toltec cultures in which the tradition originated.

The cards are smaller than standard oracle deck size, fitting in the palm of the hand like playing cards instead. At first I was surprised by their smaller size, but when shuffling and working with the deck, I’ve come to enjoy the way they feel and look when laid out in a spread. For once, I can easily fit them all on my table! The spreads the creators share in the guidebook focus on communion with the beloved dead; they are truly beautiful to work with, facilitating a tangible connection with loved ones who have passed on.

The guidebook is written in English on the right and Spanish on the left. For each card, the creators provide keywords, meaning, Storyteller message, and when applicable, Lenormand meaning too. The Storyteller message is unique in that it represents the message from “those beyond the Veil.”23 This blend of different interpretations provides illuminating insight into the card’s meaning while leaving plenty of room for reflection on the significance of the card’s message. Themes of remembrance, gratitude, and spiritual connection permeate throughout the card’s meaning, creating a sense of continuity between the past and present.

One of favorite cards in the deck is The Stork. This card features a burnt orange skeleton stork standing on one leg. The overall message of the card indicates a time of change, relocation, journey/movement, and pregnancy and birth. This joy-filled card made me feel inspired when I pulled it, and I really liked the Storyteller’s message in the guidebook:

“German folklore tells us that storks were given the task of flying babies home to their new parents. Even today we reference the Stork when talking about a newborn. We hope the glide path is free of obstruction.”24

This message makes me feel optimistic about my upcoming ventures!

Overall, The Ofrenda Oracle is a gorgeous work of art that honors tradition of Día de los Muertos and offers a path for spiritual exploration and ancestral connection. Hendrickson and Paris have succeeded in creating a deck that is not only a tool for divination but also a celebration of life, memory, and cultural heritage. Whether you are seeking to deepen your spiritual practice to connect with your ancestors or simply looking appreciate the beautiful symbolism of  Día de los Muertos, this oracle is a delightful addition to any collection.

With the Tarot Training Sleeves system, James Jacob Pierri and Dan Williams have created a handy training tool that gives a new reader “Cliff Notes” for learning tarot. 

James Jacob Pierri also created The Auset Gypsy Tarot and is a professional tarot reader and teacher with more than 30 years of experience. As an astrologer who has published articles worldwide, Pierri is also a musician, artist, performer, and host for various media. Learn more about him at AusetGypsy.com.

After working in higher education for more than 20 years, Dan Williams now specializes in computer programming and bringing new technologies to education. He was also a featured character in Who Wants to be a Superhero on the SyFy channel. Williams loves everything from comic books to photography and fashion design.

Together, Pierri and Williams have created a novel way to learn the meanings behind tarot cards by creating a system of clear plastic sleeves, small stickers for keywords, and tarot-sized cards with meanings for both upright and reversed cards. The symbolism is based on traditional Rider-Waite-Smith deck; six cards from a Rider-Waite-Smith deck are shown on the cover of the training set.

From the moment you open this kit, Pierri and Williams take you by the hand and literally tell you what to do in three easy steps. I started with the major arcana cards, as the creators suggested. It took me 10 minutes to place my major arcana cards in the sleeves, add the keyword stickers and then slip in the definition cards. So, when you prepare all 78 cards, it will probably take you about 35 minutes total.

Note: There are also 2 blank definition cards you can use, in case you have a deck with extra cards, such as Rachel Pollack did in The Shining Tribe Tarot. You can add your own information to the set of training tools.

Once you have assembled the cards, I suggest you sit and review them, starting with the major arcana and going through the cards in order. Next, go through the minor arcana, one suit at a time. Look at your card, note the keyword sticker, and then read through the definition cards. This allows you to have the material in the back of your mind and prepares you to work with the cards.

Next, you can shuffle the cards by placing them on a table and moving them around.  Be careful not to be too rough, or the cards will come out of the sleeves. You can then use the cards for a reading.

Pierri and Williams have provided a QR code that gives you even more information about the cards and utilizing the cards for training. They share spreads and tarot tutorials, including videos for each card in the Tarot deck. The very first video shows you how to set up the sleeves for your personal training use.

In the video, they share that the cards that work best with this system should be no larger than 3” X 5”.  This information would have been great to add to the box or inside information about the system. Luckily, I noticed that they referred to the Rider-Waite-Smith deck on the box cover, so I reached for a standard-sized deck that I knew would work with this set. 

On each of the definition cards, there is also a QR code in the top right hand corner.  This takes you to an online portal where you can learn even more about that card.  Here, the creators show pictures of a card from two different decks and provide expanded information about the upright and reversed meanings. Pierri and Williams also share how this card might be read in Past, Present, or Future placements in a spread, as well as the astrological significance. There is a wealth of information in this online resource. Their online portal provides even more information and they welcome questions, as well.

I have a friend who is just learning about tarot, and I plan to share this system with her.  The nice thing about the design is that it can be used by one person and then passed on to another person. The tarot cards can be removed easily and new cards inserted into the plastic sleeves.

The creators have really created an incredible resource for new tarot students with Tarot Training Sleeves. This system will be best for a new or novice tarot student. When my husband and I were learning tarot almost 20 years ago, this would have been a great way to learn basic meanings!  This would make a great gift for anyone you know who is starting their own tarot journey.
